In this book 5 of the Cowboys of Crested Butte, we meet some wonderfully complex characters that will make your heart melt and sigh as we learn of the lives in the Crested Butte ranch. In particular, we learn all about Tristan McCullough and Bullet Simmons. Tristan swore herself off bad boys after an unfortunate encounter with a bad boy that she thought was @The One’ but turned out to be more of a turkey. Bullet loves riding bulls but since his son’s mother died he doesn’t know how he can work riding bulls and being a regular dad to his little boy. When Tristan and Bullet meet she’s not sure that he can be trusted and she doesn’t want to risk her heart being broken again. This is such a sweet romance with things from the past still influencing their futures. But there is also so much fun, passion and love that they surely can overcome any obstacles? To find out you’re going to have to get yourself a copy of this wonderful book by Heather Slade. I love her style of writing which is so flowing, no angst, loving people who are nice to each other with believable characters and a plot that they truly make the most of! Whilst this is the fifth book in the series, it can be read as a standalone but you won’t always appreciate some of the nuances in the text so readily. I ‘discovered’ Heather’s books not so long ago and I’m enjoying catching up with all her stories as they are all so well written and captivating so that you want to read each story in one go. If you like cowboys, adventure, nice people, belivable plots and caring characters with a touch of love and humour then this is the book for you!
