My First Love: A Single Mom Bad Boy Love Story by Weston Parker, Ali Parker

   His Only Love

Emmett loved Autumn had known each other virtually their whole lives as their families were next door neighbours and they became the best of friends.  Then Jason’s family moves to town and he becomes part of their friendship.  he’s the one that asks Autumn to date [not Emmett 🙁  ].  Emmett is broken hearted when She and Jason marry, Emmett even walking her down the aisle, even though he knows that Jason is a cheating rat bag. Emmett and Autumn don’t declare their feelings for one another as they’re not sure the other has the same feelings.  So Emmett joins the marines and leaves but not a day dawns without him thinking of her. meanwhile Autumn and Jason have had a gorgeous sweet little girl called Penny but she is also heartbroken when her parents divorce because of his repeated infidelities.  Emmett is badly wounded in Afghanistan and his brother asks for him to be brought home as they’re not sure whether he will survive.  The local newspaper prints the story with pics of the local hero back home and Autumn knows that she must go and see him as she still loves him too.  There has been so much ‘water under the bridge’ but these two wonderful people deserve a chance at real love. Weston Parker has penned an amazing story here for us that will pull at your heart strings. I’m pleased that Jason didn’t really appear much in the story as I disliked him intensely. Please  get yourself a copy of this book as has been written with such caring, emotional feeling or how love can survive the years and the wait is always well worth it. There are some twists in the storyline that I did wonder whether Emmett and Autumn would get together but I was so happy to read the ending. Weston is a terrific author that knows how to create a unique storyline with , mostly, amazing characters that you grow to love throughout the book.  My attention was caught right at the beginning and maintained it right through to the end just as all good books do.

I received a readers copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.

Definitely recommended
