Tori and her sister Kari are doing their very best to ‘get by’. Tori has student loans and, despite her boss, she really enjoys her work for Prosper. But then the rumours start that the company is about to be taken over by a group that buys then sacks all the staff. When she hears she hurries to the restaurant where Kari works to tell her the bad news. Whilst there she is spotted by Ben, the owner of the take over company, who is mesmerised by her. When Tori has her interview for her job Ben recognises her immediately and realises that she has been on his mind ever since her first saw her. But he still sacks her despite being impressed by her candor as there is simply no space in his company for her. Plus he wants to date her! Kari suggests she tries out to be a Candy Girl singing messenger . Her first job is actually for Ben and he is shaken by her appearance and he stupidly embarrasses her in front of his friends. She leaves and meets up with friends who help her console herself. There is karaoke at the pub and , too much alcohol plus being upset leads to her singing and a video being made that goes viral about Ben! Oh dear! This is just the start of the ‘relationship’ between these two passionate characters that you’re going to love. This romantic comedy had me laughing and needing the air con on as Weston Parker surely knows how to create steam heat on the pages of his books. With the passion between Ben and Tori plus a greedy and disturbed ex wife you’re sure to have plenty of reasons not to do anything but read this compelling book. A great, fun read.
