River Shifters 4 Book Box Set by Lisa Daniels

  Fantastic Paranormal Collection

Lisa Daniels is famous for her wonderful shifter stories of bears, wolves and dragons.  My personal favourites are the bears and this is what we have with this fantastic collection of four books with over 30, 000 words and is aimed at an audience of 18+ only.  Lisa conjures up terrific stories with characters that you love by the end of the story.  It includes all of the following titles :-

Book 1 – Rescued by Ryland
Book 2 – Rescued by Emery
Book 3 – Rescued by Silas
Book 4– Rescued by Alaric

My favourite book of the collection is Rescuded by Ryland, book 1 and here is the review that I left for it :-

I recommend without hesitation that you get this collection if you haven’t read any of Lisa’s books before as I believe that they will help you become a fan of her writings like I am.  This is certainly a great collection that kept me entertained for hours and I enjoyed re-reading Ryland for this review.

Archer by Emilia Hartley

 A Chance To Make Things Right?

This is the latest bear shifter story by Emilia Hartley and I stated here that I LOVE her shifter stories but her bear shifter stories the most.  In this book we meet Archer who I didn’t like at the beginning of the story as his behaviour 8 years before set in motion a set of events that are almost catastrophic .  He had an arranged marriage made with the other clan shifter’s chief’s daughter, Joanna but he didn’t want to marry her as he had supposed ‘feelings’ for a human woman so he left her at the altar and was thrown out of his clan. She has loved him and was devastated that he’d do that and now she hates him.  His two brothers left also but he gets a phone call saying has has to come back and fix his mess! When he returns he sees Joanna and notices that she’s grown up really nicely[!] but seems to be very unhappy. He doesn’t know what to do as he has no pack but he goes to see his Dad, discovers his brothers there and that there Dad is dying but of a disease that shifters don’t get? Archer  knows that to appease the other pack he needs to marry Joanna but a new shifter, Killian claims that she is his now and he’s running the pack!  Emilia is a terrific author and the way she weaves a storyline is brilliant.  She gives us just enough information to keep us guessing and the way the characters interact and  behave gives the story it’s fast pace and the ‘I can’t put the book down’ element to it.  I thought Joanna was a very scared young woman who had done the best she could for her pack under very difficult and abusive circumstances. I was so glad that Archer manned up and became the shifter and man he always should have been and became the man that she had love all those years ago. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series and hope that we get to learn more about Archer’s brothers!

Cupid’s Shifters 4 Book Box Set by Lisa Daniels

  A Valentine’s Bundle Of Paranormal Love

This is a wonderful collection of four shifter stories by Lisa Daniels.  I had already read two of them and I looked forward to reading two ‘new’ stories.  They were , indeed, just as entertaining as the ones I knew.

Book 1: Rescued by Ryland

As this is a book by Lisa Daniels who is on my favourite authors list and it involves bears that I love, I knew that I was onto a winner even before reading a page. But this was even better than I anticipated as it starts off really as a sweet romance, with Serenity, an MIT coding nerd leaving the bustle of city life to finish her masters degree in a small provincial town and it’s on a hike into the mountains [she is a computer nerd who loves the outdoors and is feeling lonely] when she meets the handsome Ryland who seems to be very gruff with her and they just don’t seem to like each other. But remember, hate is sometimes akin to love and this book is about romance so no hating here. Her professor suggest that she join an outdoors trip such as white water rafting and she would meet more people and guess who is on the raft – yes you’ve got it, Ryland. There is obvious chemistry between them but also tension as there are secrets that will be revealed. This was a page turning wonderful story of meeting a new and lasting love. The dialogue was fun and the way that Ryland and Serenity interacted was just perfect. very entertaining and kept me engrossed form the first to last page. Now looking forward to Lisa’s next book as I’ve read all her others already. I thoroughly enjoyed Ryland and Lisa’s HEA to you.

Book 2:  Annora’s Dragon.

We meet Annora, who is a dragon slayer, and Elian, who is a dragon shifter, who are fated mates.  Annora has had a tragic life so far as both her parents died at the hand of dragons and so she has made it her life’s aim to kill all dragons.  It is not till she has got to know Elian and loving him that she learns his secret of what a magical creature he is.  Will they get their HEA?

Book 3: Anya’s Freedom.

Anya is a human slave on the Wyrm homestead and she is desperate to leave and tries to encourage other slaves to be with her. But someone informs on her and she has to flee for her life. On her race to freedom she meets Kalgrin who is wanting to punish the Wyrms too but he either needs to save Ayna or she will die. He changes into a mighty dragon and rescues her. This is a short, fast paced story by Lisa Daniels that is a really interesting read and will keep you turning page after page. It can easily, be read in an afternoon. It is well written and tells the story of Anya’s freedom and her discovery of another race called the Drakes whom Kalgrin belongs to. She had always made herself look hideous so the wyrms would not want her but Kalgrin is an entirely different creature and she knows that she can trust this sexy stranger who flew her to safety. Romance between them? You’ll have to read the book adn find out 😉

Book 4: Mordred and Kiara

I hadn’t read this book before but it was really good like the other books in this bundle.  Kiara gets bored very easily and doesn’t like sitting in on meetings.  Having escaped from  home that morning she is tracked down by a huntsman to take her to the meeting where she is noticed by a yellow eyed man whom she knew must be one of the wyrms who hate humans. She hates them too for what they do to humans as those yellow eyed serpents are cruel. There are negotiations taking place and she thinks they are for her sister to be betrothed to a yellow eyed monster. But she’s wrong as it’s for her as Mordred couldn’t take his eyes off her.  How will Kiara deal with being married to such a creature? To find out you need to get a copy of this book and read!!

In conclusion, I would encourage you to get yourself a copy of this book if you like shifters and romances.

12 Magical Nights of Christmas Anthology C.D. Gorri

  A  Bundle Of Fantasy & Paranormal

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.  This book is a collection by twelve different authors surrounding the Christmas theme and includes, vampires, shifters and witchcraft.  Some of the authors are new to me  such as Solstice Magick by Heather Marie Adkins which is a real delight to read as I don’t normally read much about witchcraft but Heather Marie really does weave a magical story for us in this story. I will certainly be looking out for more stories by her in future! I laughed and really enjoyed Dragon Got Run Over By A Reindeer by Julia Mills, another newbie to me – really put me in the Christmas spirit 🙂 .  Want to read about people joining the Mile High Club at Christmas? Then look no further than The Dragon’s Magical Night by P.T. Macias – but have your fans at the ready.  It is only within the last month that I ‘discovered C.D. Gori and , I confess, that this is the first of all the stories that I read as I like her style of writing so much. She draws you into the storyline straight away and keeps you riveted to the book till you reach the end.  I didn’t read them all in order, but just picked them by the titles.  There was only one that I felt let down by after reading it and that was A Beary Christmas by Ariel Marie.  As soon as I saw ‘Bearly’, I thought “Great!” but Ariel Marie’s style of writing just didn’t gel with me but probably will with others. Overall, I really enjoyed the first three that I mentioned here the most but the others were also really enjoyable with the exception of AM’s – hence only four stars.

Do I recommend this bundle to readers – Yes!  Most certainly, after all the money is going to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and 11 out of 12 books, as far as I am concerned is still great value for  money.

The Bear’s Home by Emilia Hartley

  Whose After Thorn’s Territory?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.  We are introduced to Thorn, a Kodiak alpha bear shifter who is the largest shifter in Ripple, Oregon. Now he’s a peace loving bear who is only interested in fighting and having fun with the ladies!  Felicity is a property developer form out of town and she is here in Ripple to see if there is the potential for building a shopping mall, high rise buildings and changing the nature of the whole town.  It’s in Sally’s bar [she has been after Thorn for ever so long but he never notices her], that Thorn notices when Felicity walks into the bar. In fact everyone notices her as she is so out of place.  When she walks back out three creeps follow her so Thorn follows them as he knows that they’re up to no good.  There he finds that they have tried to ambush her so Thorn goes to the rescue and by the time the creeps are running away she has got in her car and sped away, but he paused as he was so surprised that she had been so calm!  A puzzle! She returns to see Sally and threatens her into selling her bar as Felicity is determined to get rich with this scheme of hers.  But things start happening like Thorns property being damaged. Who would dare threaten the biggest alpha around??  Is someone after his territory?   Will felicity tell him that she is a mountain lion shifter? Secrets are revealed from the past that are effecting today.  As they get to know one another better their attraction and lust increases are they mates? Will they get their HEA? Will Thorn discover who is behind the ‘pranks’?  For you to find out you need to read this latest book by Emilia Hartley.  I really like reading paranormal stories, especially bear shifters an so I knew that I was going to like the hero.  I have read all of Emilia’s stories that have been published in ebook form in the UK and I do like her easy flowing writing style with great storylines and interesting characters and , of course, the HEAs.

Ranger Ramon (Shifter Nation: Werebears Of Acadia #3) by Meg Ripley

    Can She Create An Antidote In Time?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. In the Acadia National Park, a rogue shifter went on the rampage and brutally murdered three people. He had been infected with a virus that was not natural but did not get apprehended until he had already murdered. Ranger Ramon, bear shifter and a real handsome hunk of manhood, is studying the virus when they get notification that entomologist, Min who used to work for the government in CDC is being transferred to be the Park’s biologist. When Ramon sees Min he and his bear know that she is their ONE and they have plenty of passion exploring their passion together. unfortunately, before Min got there, Ramon was bitten and has contracted the virus. They don’t know how long he has before the virus will take over and he will no longer be Ramon. Min knows that this means she has a much greater investment in finding a solution as she’s in love with him. But not everyone is as they seem and someone who is supposedly a ‘good guy’ is not! Will Min concoct an antidote to save Ramon and bring him back to her? Will the opposing force prevent her from saving him? All will be revealed when you read this book as I did. Min and Ramon are so great together. As he is the only one of the shifters left who is a single guy he was feeling lonely anyway but he will not be the last to get engaged if he can help it! Beautifully written by Meg Ripley in the third book in the series. I have read the first two stories anyway as I love reading Meg’s stories – especially about bear shifters. Whilst this is book 3 in the series, it is perfectly fine to read it as a standalone but I strongly suspect it will then encourage you to read the previous two books as it’s such a great series and so well written. I look forward to Meg’s next story 🙂
