   Learning To Be A Family

This is the second of four books in the Secret baby Daddy Series by Paige North.  Colt and Serena are keeping their new relationship a secret from everyone but most especially her family as they would not approve. in fact, her brother is extremely suspicious.  They have a few days away with Sebastien, their secret son, and their time together is making them more sure about their feelings. But what is going to happen when her family do find out?  What effect will this have on Colt’s reputation – bearing in mind he came home because of a scandal in the first place?  very well written as were parts 1 and 2 by Paige. Great details that really make them ‘come alive’ and I am especially looking forward to book 4 which is the conclusion of their, hopefully, HEA. Fingers crossed that it’s out for us to read asap!  A great story with lovable characters and a terrific storyline. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

   Will He Forgive Her?

Years ago Serena loved her brother’s best friend, Colt.  Colt also seemed certainly in lust if not love with her too. The last summer he was living at home the passion between them overtook them and whilst it was hot and steamy and beyond anything either had expected, Serena got pregnant.  As Colt was leaving to go to follow his dream of becoming a movie star she lied and told him that her baby wasn’t his. But he was. He couldn’t have been anyone’s but Colt. Colt was heartbroken and left. In this fast paced story you will see how a young woman sacrificed her happiness so that the love of her life could go and follow his dream.  She didn’t want him to resent her or their baby so she lied. But she still loves him. He’s now at the height of his career but back home and sees her when she’s out with friends and he approaches and the chemistry is still there between them. But the thing about secrets is that they eventually come out. How will Colt react to finding out she kept his son from him? What will his girlfriend and co-star react to this latest news? How will Colt feel towards Serena the girl who was his first love?  Beautifully written by Paige North.  She certainly knows how to grab your attention and maintain it.  I lost sleep to finish reading this book but it was so worth it.  Great characters and a lovely twist or two.  A great fun read overall that I thoroughly encourage you to read yourself!I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ranger’s Baby Surprise: A Brother’s Best Friend Romance by Violet Paige

  Will She Forgive Him & Give Him A Second Chance?

This is the latest  fun, passionate and fast paced read by Violet Paige.  We meet Jake who is a Ranger and he’s just got back from a mission in which his best friend, Elliot, didn’t make it back.  But Jake promised Elliot that he would help Elliot’s sister, Olivia, and protect her. Meanwhile Olivia is just getting to terms with the loss of her brother when she comes home one day to find a strange big truck in her driveway and a very handsome man on her step. He introduces himself and explains why he is there.  The attraction between them is instantaneous and unexpected. Jake starts to help her fix her house up but the pull of attraction between them over takes them and they end up making passionate love.  Feelings between them develop the longer they spend time together until the unexpected happens and he leaves her without a word. Not a note. NOTHING.  Will Olivia hear form him again? Why did he go? If he does get in touch, will she still be there after her house is sold??  All these questions will be answered when you get yourself your own copy and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  I confess that I really liked the plot, the two main characters of Olivia and Jake were well developed and it was all going so well until right at the end. I say this as I felt the ending could have been expanded more or even an epilogue added so that we could catch a glimpse of how their HEA was progressing. But, nevertheless, it was still very entertaining and beautifully written  by Violet Paige and I will be looking forward to her next book with anticipation. Included in the book are TWO exclusive books not available anywhere else. They are :- Slow Burn and Second Chance Doctor. I received a free reader’s copy and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here.  However, I purchased my own copy and that’s how I know that the two additional books are such good reads.

The Baby Plan: A Second Chance Romance by Tia Siren

  I’m Having My Brother’s Best Friend’s Baby 

When I see that Tia Siren has got a brand new book coming out, I just know that I have to get a copy!  I ‘discovered’ her stories at the beginning of 2017 and have caught up with reading all her stories that have been published as ebooks in the UK since and I have honestly loved each and every one of them.  her style of writing which has the words flowing so smoothly across the page. She creates such interesting storylines and fantastic characters that I usually come to love. It is her attention to detail with her character development that makes them seem to ‘come to life’ and seem so real.  In this book our two main protagonists are Lara and Mason. they were childhood sweethearts till her brother, mason’s so called best friend, warned him off his sister and told him to leave her alone.  So Mason did that without telling her why and she was heartbroken.  Years later she is now divorced and desperately wanting a baby having just had a miscarriage. So with no man in her life she decides to have a baby on her own and goes to an IVF Clinic for treatment. Imagine her surprise when the doctor to treat her is Mason! neither has really got over each other and when learning that she wants a baby he sees this as a second chance for them and to have the family they should have had years ago.  So beautifully written with the chemistry sizzling and sparkling whenever mason and Lara are in the same room together.  I loved Mason as he never got over Lara and his determination to overcome her insecurities and lack of trust in him make him a worthy ‘hero’ for her.  Will Lara forgive him? Will she forgive her brother? What will Mason have to do to win the heart of his childhood sweetheart? I can’t wait for Tia’s next story!

Knocked Up by Brother’s Best Friend: A Bad Boy Secret Baby Romance by Amy Brent

Quinn and her older brother, Jonah, have not had the best of childhoods. With parents that were junkies and virtual alcoholics who didn’t even notice if the children were there or not.  When Quinn turns 10 years old, she wakes up to just Jonah in the ‘home’ as their parents have upped and left them all alone and with all their debts to pay.  Jonah has already been the one looking out for Quinn but now it’s just them so it is actually easier as he doesn’t have to shield her from their parents bad behaviour. With no other family Jonah does his best to basically be a parent to Quinn and he protects her – even so far as to chasing off any potential boyfriends.  She goes to college out of town but after being sexually harassed by a lecturer she is despondent and gets kicked out. She hangs her head as she gets the bus home knowing that Jonah will be furious as he’s worked so hard for her to go to college whilst he works in construction. After getting off the bus in her home town of Coral Springs, Iowa, she is walking past Lucky’s [a bar in town] when she walks into a wall of muscle of gorgeous manhood called Leo.  He takes her into the bar and buys her a beer never letting go of her hand and they talk as she’s never talked before. She feels electric shocks where ever he touches her and he calls her Sunshine as the gold in her blonde hair captivates the sunlight.  As their lust and attraction explodes as they talk, never taking their eyes off each other, he asks her to go with him to his flat upstairs and she does. She tells him that she doesn’t usually do this but the passion between them is like fireworks going off and they don’t even make it to the bed.  Leo has been drifting from one town to another since he was 18 when he left home following a family tragedy, although he has stayed in this town longer than anywhere else and has a best friend in a guy called Jonah!!!!  Leo is a player but for the first time in his life he feels something MORE with Quinn and can’t get enough of her.  But what happens when Jonah finds out about time?? Can Quinn trust Leo or he just going to leave her as he does every other female??  I LOVE this story.  Amy Brent is a fantastic author and this is, undoubtedly, my favourite book of hers to date.  Quinn. Leo, Jonah and Lily [her best friend] are such well developed characters and the alterations in Leo are wonderful to read.  Amy describes the people such that you can easily imagine them as they are so realistic and down to earth.  I feel so sorry for the three main people in the story as they have all not had the easiest of lives but with determination they refuse to stay down and want to make the very best they can of themselves and those they love.   When a legacy is discovered it makes a significant impact to their lives and gives Quinn the opportunity to shine and spread her wings to be able to fulfil her potential.  Beautifully written with very HOT scenes between Leo and Quinn that will necessitate you getting your fan out and turning it on to MAX. She is such a great influence on Leo but Jonah could be the fly in the ointment that keeps them apart.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. However, as I loved it so much I bought my own copy and am now enjoying the bonus stories that have not been published before!!  get a copy for yourself and prepare to be entertained.

P.S.  There is a surprise that Leo needs to know but no one knows where he’s gone!

Hot Stuff by Weston Parker

   Twists & Turns To Reach Their HEA

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is actually the first book that I’ve read that is just written by Weston Parker. I have, however, enjoyed reading all twelve books that he wrote with Ali Parker, Blythe Reid and Zoe Reid. This book surrounds Gage, who is a single Dad and self made millionaire after establishing his own construction company and it being so successful. After a near death experience he makes his mind up that he is going to be a batter dad and takes full custody of his little girl, Olivia, who was previously being brought up by her maternal grandmother after her mother died. He hears that his best friend Noah’s dad, has just died and so they’re going to go back home and visit as well as attending the funeral. When he gets there he is blown away by Noah’s little sister,Lauren, who is no longer his high school crush and has grown into s stunningly beautiful young woman who is a successful solicitor now who has just resigned form her job. Lauren has never loved any man as she loved Gage but he was her brother’s best friend so a relationship between them was taboo. One between them now is still taboo as far as Noah is concerned. However, Noah is worried about Lauren as he knows that something is going on but she won’t tell him. The sparks of attraction between Gage and Lauren have never dulled, in fact, they are simmering and getting ready to ignite as their passion for one another grows. This is not a straight forward second chance of love between best friend and his sister. It is so much more and that is what makes Weston Parker’s writing stand out and kept me attached to the book from page 1 to the very last page. His writing style is flowing but with tension and suspense that made me so engrossed that I lost sleep till I had finished reading the whole story. It was so well worth losing a few hours sleep and I really encourage you to get your own copy to find out Lauren’s secret and what happens between her and Gage [as well as their little secret too!]. I loved this book and have already bought another of his books already to read next!

Hot As Hell: A Second Chance Romance by Vivian Wood

    Like Tow Magnets Drawn Together

Well Vivian Wood has given us, yet another, wonderful treat with Cade, a gorgeous firefighter who is suffering PTSd bouts after a tragedy at a fire and his love and lust for his best friend’s little sister, Lily. Now Lily, a pastry chef at the local bakery beside the fire station where her two brothers work is learning to be even better with Jean Michael the owner of the bakery. It would be useful if you read Smoulder as it is the prequel to this story but don’t worry if you haven’t. Lily’s Dad was the fire chief many years ago and he helped Cade who was in the foster system and that’s how he met Ej , her brother, and became best friends with him and how he inspired Cade, Ej and his other son to follow him into the fire service too. Unfortunately their Dad died in a fire but the ‘boys’ still stayed in the service. Cade left 5 years ago and he still feels wrong for having left without saying a word to Lily as he loved her then but knew he couldn’t do anything to hurt his relationship with EJ by going out with his sister. Lily has never loved any man other than Cade and is still a virgin. When he walks into the bakery one day unexpectedly she is delighted and you can practically feel the smoldering desire between the two of them as it was so palpable. As they meet more often with him venturing into the bakery often and seeing each other at her brothers flat, Cade realises that his feelings for Lily have developed into so much more and eventually they’give in’ to their feelings and the love scene is so sensuous, passionate and , yet, so loving. Simply beautifully composed by Vivian as she can do so well. But once is never enough and the passion continues to build until they cannot deny their feelings for one another but they still haven’t told EJ. When things go awry and Lily ends up on the mountain where there is a forest fire, Cade knows that he will do anything to save Lily even to risking his ow life. But will Cade get the chance to save her? Will they both survive and will her brother forgive Cade? I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. I think this is my favourite of Vivian’s books and I love the other ones but the relationship between Cade and Lily is so sweet and , yet, steam heat that I can’t help but love it. This is one book that I will be re-reading and will be getting a copy for myself to re-read in the future.

Lover Boy (Blue Collar Bachelors Book 1) by Cassie-Ann L. Miller

   Red Hot Next Door Neighbour!

Leo Montgomery is a newly single dad and ex-military. His best friend offers him a new job and a place to live to have a new start in life with his cute, four year old son.  Next door is the hottest young woman that he’s ever seen and she’s completely off limits to him as she is his best friend’s little sister.  But Reese isn’t that little in fact she has curves in all the right places for him to enjoy given half a chance. Reese is a feisty young woman who can make even her ex high school sweetheart who confessed to being gay, love her.  When she sets her eyes on Leo she has what she calls a major crush. However, she isn’t a young teenager  and it’s a way more intense feeling.  This latest story by Cassie-Ann Miller is a real treat.  It is the first in a new series and this is a fantastic start to any series.  I loved how Cassie-Ann created characters that were so easy to love such as Reese and Leo.  Also the secondary characters are also great and maybe we will see them in future books in the series?  There were also plenty of laugh out loud moments such as granny panties flashing!  I do so love a rom-com and this book is the perfect example of that genre.  This is a fun and fast paced book that I couldn’t put down as it was so good.  It caught my imagination at page one and maintained it till the very end.  Leo and Reese are just so good together and the chemistry between them is off the charts so fans at the ready please readers!  I also loved that the hero wasn’t a billionaire or silly wealthy but was an honest ex military and blue collar worker and not not a ‘not in your wildest dreams’ hero in the story.  I love Cassie-Ann’s style of writing and am so looking forward to the next in the series! If this is an example of what to expect that I predict that I will be purchasing the series as I will be wanting to read the stories again.
