Starter Set-Paranormal Romance: The first books in four of my Paranormal series by Vella Day

This is a superb collection of paranormal stories by the best selling author, Vella Day. If you haven’t read any paranormal stories and have a good imagination then I would certainly recommend this set to you.  They are all very well written with fantastic storylines that give you a rich flavour of what the paranormal genre is partly about.  The four stories included are :-

PACK WARS – Training Their Mate – this is my favourite of the four books included and is concerned by two wolf shifters who find their mate who is a human. But she is their Fated Mate so no other will do. They just have to persuade her.  All these books are the first i a series so give you a great insight as to what to expect. All very well written, full of intrigue, passion, mystery, secrets and love.    I have read all of the pack war series and loved it very much.  The Hidden Hills Shifters are my second favourite and will sweep you away on their secrets and passion too.  I always look forward to Vella’s stories and I hope this may entice some of you to try her books too.  I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Defying The Dragon Prince by Selina Coffey

   Will She Accept Henry As Her Mate?

This is the second book in the series and concerns Henry and Willow.  We meet Willow at the beginning of the book and she is dying.  She doesn’t know that she has the Mating Sickness and the only cure is to find and bond with her mate.  The problem is that she doesn’t have a clue and when she finds out who her mate is she’s infuriated.  But maybe she is protesting about him too hard! Henry, meanwhile is delighted to meet Willow and does all he can to impress her but is so eager that he puts her off! Will they be mated?  Can Willow let down her guard and let henry show her who he really is? Will henry give up on her if she keeps rebuffing his advances? After all, she was dying till she met him??  Life or death?  To find out you need to get a copy of this and find out for yourself. The Clan Legacy Complete Series Box Set by J. S. Striker

 Paranormal Stories At Their Best

This is a fabulous collection of eleven paranormal stories by J. S. Striker who is a terrific author who really knows how to draw the reader into the storyline and maintain their attention right to the very end.  There is something for everyone in this collection. There are wolf shifters, dragon shifters, bear shifters [my personal favourites], panther shifters and vampires! If you haven’t tried reading any paranormal stories before then you are in for a treat with this well written bundle.  I have no qualms at all about encouraging you to get yourselves a copy of this now and enjoy.  With hunky heroes and feisty heroines, plenty of ‘bad’ guys, twists and suspense that will keep you on the edges of your seats but also getting hot in the steamy sexy scenes!!

This is part of the Clan Legacy Series by J.S. Striker, but don’t let that put you off as this can easily be read as a standalone or as part of the complete series. For those who have read the series like me, I remember Simon in prior episodes. The blurb is very true to the book. Robin wants to be the best witch ever and her friend Simon, from long ago, just wants to settle down with a wolf shifter and enjoy family life. Having not seen each other in a few years they are taken aback by the sizzling passion they feel for one another. On a mission together, Simon becomes jealous and has difficulty hiding it. Robin also is having trouble keeping her desires for him in check. Who will give in first? This is a really fun read and story that I enjoyed immensely and look forward to the next story. Enchanted By Fire (Dragons Of The Darkblood Secret Society, #3) by Meg Ripley

   Did She Really Just See Him Do THAT!!

Meg Ripley is one of my favourite paranormal authors. I love her rich language and detailed descriptions that brings these mystical creatures to life and makes them almost believable.  This is book 3 of the Dragons Of The Darkblood Secret Society and in it we meet Ethan who is a dragon shifter and he is frustrated that hunters are proving to be a very real threat to their community and Resa who is a feisty young reporter who is also has a dragon blog as she dreams of them and met one when she was much younger.  Their first encounter does not go well as she catches Ethan shifting so he kidnaps her and holds her prisoner.  What is he to do with her?  The attraction between them is very obvious and when she puts herself in danger how will Ethan cope if he can’t reach and save her in time? Plenty of suspense and romance mixed together in this dragon shifting adventure. It is book 3 of a series but can easily be read as a standalone.  I would also encourage you to read more of Meg’s stories as they are just so good and will keep you entertained for hours. Cupid’s Shifters 4 Book Box Set by Lisa Daniels

  A Valentine’s Bundle Of Paranormal Love

This is a wonderful collection of four shifter stories by Lisa Daniels.  I had already read two of them and I looked forward to reading two ‘new’ stories.  They were , indeed, just as entertaining as the ones I knew.

Book 1: Rescued by Ryland

As this is a book by Lisa Daniels who is on my favourite authors list and it involves bears that I love, I knew that I was onto a winner even before reading a page. But this was even better than I anticipated as it starts off really as a sweet romance, with Serenity, an MIT coding nerd leaving the bustle of city life to finish her masters degree in a small provincial town and it’s on a hike into the mountains [she is a computer nerd who loves the outdoors and is feeling lonely] when she meets the handsome Ryland who seems to be very gruff with her and they just don’t seem to like each other. But remember, hate is sometimes akin to love and this book is about romance so no hating here. Her professor suggest that she join an outdoors trip such as white water rafting and she would meet more people and guess who is on the raft – yes you’ve got it, Ryland. There is obvious chemistry between them but also tension as there are secrets that will be revealed. This was a page turning wonderful story of meeting a new and lasting love. The dialogue was fun and the way that Ryland and Serenity interacted was just perfect. very entertaining and kept me engrossed form the first to last page. Now looking forward to Lisa’s next book as I’ve read all her others already. I thoroughly enjoyed Ryland and Lisa’s HEA to you.

Book 2:  Annora’s Dragon.

We meet Annora, who is a dragon slayer, and Elian, who is a dragon shifter, who are fated mates.  Annora has had a tragic life so far as both her parents died at the hand of dragons and so she has made it her life’s aim to kill all dragons.  It is not till she has got to know Elian and loving him that she learns his secret of what a magical creature he is.  Will they get their HEA?

Book 3: Anya’s Freedom.

Anya is a human slave on the Wyrm homestead and she is desperate to leave and tries to encourage other slaves to be with her. But someone informs on her and she has to flee for her life. On her race to freedom she meets Kalgrin who is wanting to punish the Wyrms too but he either needs to save Ayna or she will die. He changes into a mighty dragon and rescues her. This is a short, fast paced story by Lisa Daniels that is a really interesting read and will keep you turning page after page. It can easily, be read in an afternoon. It is well written and tells the story of Anya’s freedom and her discovery of another race called the Drakes whom Kalgrin belongs to. She had always made herself look hideous so the wyrms would not want her but Kalgrin is an entirely different creature and she knows that she can trust this sexy stranger who flew her to safety. Romance between them? You’ll have to read the book adn find out 😉

Book 4: Mordred and Kiara

I hadn’t read this book before but it was really good like the other books in this bundle.  Kiara gets bored very easily and doesn’t like sitting in on meetings.  Having escaped from  home that morning she is tracked down by a huntsman to take her to the meeting where she is noticed by a yellow eyed man whom she knew must be one of the wyrms who hate humans. She hates them too for what they do to humans as those yellow eyed serpents are cruel. There are negotiations taking place and she thinks they are for her sister to be betrothed to a yellow eyed monster. But she’s wrong as it’s for her as Mordred couldn’t take his eyes off her.  How will Kiara deal with being married to such a creature? To find out you need to get a copy of this book and read!!

In conclusion, I would encourage you to get yourself a copy of this book if you like shifters and romances.

12 Magical Nights of Christmas Anthology C.D. Gorri

  A  Bundle Of Fantasy & Paranormal

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.  This book is a collection by twelve different authors surrounding the Christmas theme and includes, vampires, shifters and witchcraft.  Some of the authors are new to me  such as Solstice Magick by Heather Marie Adkins which is a real delight to read as I don’t normally read much about witchcraft but Heather Marie really does weave a magical story for us in this story. I will certainly be looking out for more stories by her in future! I laughed and really enjoyed Dragon Got Run Over By A Reindeer by Julia Mills, another newbie to me – really put me in the Christmas spirit 🙂 .  Want to read about people joining the Mile High Club at Christmas? Then look no further than The Dragon’s Magical Night by P.T. Macias – but have your fans at the ready.  It is only within the last month that I ‘discovered C.D. Gori and , I confess, that this is the first of all the stories that I read as I like her style of writing so much. She draws you into the storyline straight away and keeps you riveted to the book till you reach the end.  I didn’t read them all in order, but just picked them by the titles.  There was only one that I felt let down by after reading it and that was A Beary Christmas by Ariel Marie.  As soon as I saw ‘Bearly’, I thought “Great!” but Ariel Marie’s style of writing just didn’t gel with me but probably will with others. Overall, I really enjoyed the first three that I mentioned here the most but the others were also really enjoyable with the exception of AM’s – hence only four stars.

Do I recommend this bundle to readers – Yes!  Most certainly, after all the money is going to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and 11 out of 12 books, as far as I am concerned is still great value for  money.

Found by the Dragon 4 Book Box Set by Lisa Daniels

    Lisa Daniels At Her Best

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. If, like me, you like reading many different genres of books, and you haven’t tried shifter books before, then you need to try these as you are in for a treat. Personally, I prefer reading about bear shifters but this set of books is about four dragon shifters and finding, and then claiming, their fated mates.Lisa Daniels is one of my favourite authors for this particular genre and she excels at creating it for us to read. You will learn about the dragon shifters, in particular, but also of other types of shifters. You will also learn about the Wyrms and how humans used to have magical powers and how they were long forgotten. The dragons that you meet in these books are all strong alpha males who are proud and protective – especially of their mates. The four books comprise of :-
Book 1: Anya’s Freedom
Book 2: Seon’s Freedom
Book 3: Elise’s Freedom
Book 4: Isera’s Freedom
I found each book to be very entertaining and they certainly kept me engrossed within their stories form first to last page. I did actually read them previously one at a time but I think it’s much more satisfying to read them all in one go like with this set. I thoroughly enjoyed reading them and I hope that you do too.

Taka (Brothers Of The Dark Places #3) by Miranda Bailey

  Shifters At War!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Taka is the Dragon Shifter King and the world is falling apart as earthquakes are regularly occurring and ruining the land so he must take his people to safety. Whilst walking he comes across a captured wolf shifter who has bitten
one of his brothers trying to kill him. Taka, at once, recognises her as his soulmate and Aska recognises that he is hers too. So Taka must get her away from his brothers as they will kill her which will mean that he will die too. Aska is a feisty young she wolf whose father declares war on the dragon shifters and he has raised Aska to use all her skills and anything at her disposal to kill Taka This means that she will use her knowledge that she is his soulmate to trick him into freeing her. I have read both of the two books prior to this in the series, Wruin and Endre and I loved them! having said that, this can be read as a standalone story but, having read the other two I understand so much more. Miranda Bailey is a fantastic writer with clever storylines and she gives you sufficient details to make the characters come alive before your very eyes. I do love reading paranormal stories and shifters are my favourite of the genre. This is one fast paced story that is a real page turner and a must read. Enjoy!!!
