Mountain Man’s Nanny (Mountain Man, #2) by Kelsey King

   Her Best Friend’s Brother…

This is a must have read by Kelsey King that won’t disappoint! Written so well and such a wonderful story that is realistic with terrific characters that it was so easy to be compelled to read it in one go. Parker is a single dad to Evie and Jackson after his wife died in a mugging. Now five years later he is really struggling to be both parents but his sister has an exceptional idea – get her best friend to act as nanny for him! Kacee is just perfect for the children and there is certainly attraction between her and Parker that will send the mercury in a temperature gauge rising high! If only Jackson hadn’t interrupted them a kiss would have happened so much sooner than it did. I loved these characters and hope that you will too. Another Chance on Love by Cindy Larie Rowell Cowles

  A Story To Remember

Prepare yourselves for an amazing read with plenty of laughs, maybe some crying so have your hankies at the ready and a great story about love possibly happening twice in a lifetime.  CL Rowell is a new author to me but I do like her writing style and the way that her descriptions of the characters bring them to ‘life’ right before my eyes. There there is such depth of character that I think you’re going to enjoy this story about Brandon, a young widower, and Brittany, the godmother to his child, who he develops feelings for. Mountain Man’s Secret Baby – Lauren’s Storytelling At Her Best! 15 April 2018.  Denise, whom we met in the previous book [Mountain man’s Bride with Molly and Chris] and Ethan [he is an Alaskan but not from Nome and is working on the new harbour being built to attract tourism to the area]. Denise is still working for Molly [a really nice young woman who appears in quite a few of the scenes – think bathroom and Ethan with no clothes on in the shower –  she is feeling rather lonely to be honest and despite Molly encouraging her to accept a date with one of the many men who ask her, she just won’t as she doesn’t think they are ‘right’ for her. Then this gorgeous man walks in and she can’t keep her eyes off him.  He can’t keep his eyes off her either and his name is Ethan!  The feisty little red head is driving him crazy and he has a bet that he will get further with her than any man in Nome. . .

  My Favourite Story by Lauren Landish – A Must Have Read

Aubrey was the high school jock and Ana was his Girl.  They had everything planned – their wedding, how many children they would have. Then on senior prom night he left without a word. No one knew where he or his family had gone. NOTHING!  ten years later Ana is a hard-working young nurse and she needs to have a well earned break so goes for two weeks holidays to Bear Mountain and it is there that she meets Aubrey.   prepare to cry and have your fans/air con at the ready for the red hot, steamy, passionate sex scenes between these two lovers.  In this second chance romance, discover what happened to Aubrey and his family and see whether these two fabulous characters do get a chance at HEA.  Lauren Landish has given us a tremendous story in Untamed, the ninth book of the Irresistible Bachelors Series. It would be so easy to fall in love with Aubrey and I confess that I had my hankie out. But what a moving and compelling story!  It is undoubtedly my favourite story by Lauren and I strongly encourage you to get your own copy now.  I can’t wait for her next book!  I received a reader’s copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here.

The Proposal by R.R. Banks

  Second Chances – & Beautiful Ending!

Cherry and Gabriel were childhood friends, with Gabriel being her older brother, Brent’s, best friend.  When Cherry’s dad died, Brent said he would take care of their mum and her and for her not to worry but this was not to be following a tragic accident. So Gabriel left and he never saw Cherry for years but he’s back now and they are astonished when they meet again.  Cherry’s mum is seriously ill and she is doing all she can to make sufficient money to pay for her medical bills.  meanwhile, Gabriel’s father gives him an ultimatum – have a child to show responsibility or you won’t become the CEO and owner of the company after his father!  Gabriel is obviously furious and is furious with his father but what he doesn’t realise is that his P.A. who keeps him on track perfectly has given her job to Cherry.  he has always liked Cherry especially when she started to develop into a stunning young woman and they do have a history but she is even more beautiful now and he really does want to get to know her better anyway.  But could she help him with his father’s latest proclamation??  He’s sexually attracted to her and she seems to be equally into him as the air practically crackles with electricity humming between them.  But what happens when real and lasting emotions become involved??  I loved the beginning of the story and I don’t know how Cherry was so polite to that wedding planner and as for that jerk, Ashley, she had a very lucky escape form him.  I loved the way R.R. banks gave us layers of the story and as I got into the story more  and more layers were revealed making this the perfect feel good factor story. So well written with a unique storyline that was such fun to read and as he revealed more and more parts of the layers to the story it became ‘alive’ to me and the characters were not just made up of letters on a page but were almost 3- dimensional and animated.  I admit my expectations of this story were very high after reading R.R. Banks last novel , Accidentally Married, but he has surpassed my expectations and I look forward with anticipation for his next story for us to enjoy! I received a reader’s copy of this story and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here.

I have purchased my own copy of the story as I know that I will be wanting to re-read this story in the future as it is so good plus the bonus materials are extremely good [I have that on good recommendations from a friend] and so will be enjoying reading them beginning this evening.

  A Second Chance of A Loving Life

Garrett and Gwendolyn, Gwen, are two lonely people who have both suffered – Garrett is now a single Dad to Jason and Gwen has suffered from a mentally abusive marriage where her confidence found an all time low.  They are both trying for a new start in a small town called Silver Lake – the type of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. Gwen is starting as a teacher in the high school and Garrett is returning to his home town, where he has bad memories, and is going to be the new fire chief and Jason, who is going through that rebellious teenager stage is going to be attending the high school! Garrett and Gwen do meet one night, out of town, both using a different name and they have a wildly passionate and erotic night of none stop mind blowing sex – one that they’re never likely to forget [WARNING:- you will need your fans set to maximum cold here!!!] They meet again when Gwen has trouble with a new boy in her class and discovers his dad is her hunky, sexy beyond reason saviour from her night at the bar – I could almost imagine the look on both their faces when they meet for that second time as RR was so descriptive! RR Banks is an exceptional author who has a magical way of weaving an intricate plot through the pages a of a story with tension building up with each sentence.  There is so much about Garrett that we learn as the story unfolds such as how he doesn’t want Jason to make the same mistakes, what happened to Garrett to make him leave Silver Lake. Gwen likewise has past issues that she has still not resolved.  The passion scale when they meet just fired straight into the upper atmosphere they are so HOT together but will they be able to be more than that to have a successful relationship.  This story is a great example of R.R. Banks at his very best This is a fast paced love story but also so very much more that has been exquisitely penned for us by R.R. Interview with the Rock Star by Rylee Swann

   Torn Apart

Presley Elizabeth is a young woman who is struggling the best she can in life.  Her past Love, Kace Rymer, is a one hit wonder of a rock star. They met ten years ago and we’re besotted with each other. His Hit song he wrote for her and whenever she hears it on the radio it brings back so many wonderful and a few heart breaking reminders of Kace.  They were engaged but Kace was struggling with the life style of being a rock star. Drugs and drink were his enemy and he couldn’t seem to help himself out of this spiral of despair. Presley was so worried by his body wasting away to the abuse but there was nothing she could do. Then something happened and she broke off the engagement and hasn’t seen him since even though she loves him so very much and he has tried umpteen times to even get her to speak to him. Four years ago he got rid of all his management team, including his cousin, got into rehab and got himself a new manager, Steven. When he is asked to sing the national anthem before a football game at home he returns to where they fell in love back to her. They meet and what happens after that could very well make you cry, sigh and laugh. But oh how beautiful Rylee Swann delivers this touching story to us, the readers.  She is a fabulous author the way she draws you into the pain that both Kace and Presley are going through and she lets us ‘hear’ what they are thinking. This is a heart wrenching story that takes you through all the emotions of finding love, having it torn away from you, dragging oneself through rehab and trying to get to be the person you want to be and then declaring your love to all the world to even have the slimmest of chances that you just might win the love of the most important person in the world to you.  Rylee has excelled in this book to make us root for Kace and Presley despite what we thought was the ‘truth’. She really got into their heads and I just couldn’t put this book down as I was too ‘invested’ in their characters. yes, Kace was flawed but he was not totally as he had been portrayed and he did deserve a chance which Presley was brave enough to give him. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

However, as I loved this story so very much and will be re-reading it again, I have bought my own copy.

The Raw Touch by Serena Akeroyd

   A Dark Romance!

First I must warn you that there are some potential disturbing scenes with dubious consent that may be offensive to the reader so please be warned before you buy this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.   Our heroine in this book by Serena Akeroyd is not the least bit like I expected.  Lucia is a very damaged soul who is a cop. She has been undercover and she is really good at what she does. But when she comes back to ‘normal’ policing, she doesn’t feel ‘right’. What she doesn’t know is that the Mob Boss, Martinez, has been watching her for some years now and he’s waiting for the moment to claim her as he wants her despite knowing that she’s a cop.  What he doesn’t realise is that Lucia can’t bear to be touched due to what happened to her many years ago that some women wouldn’t have survived.  When Martinez makes a ‘deal’ with her what will the implications be? She has handed over the evidence that got his brother slammed in prison. What will the rest of the gang think of his now being with her?  How many lives will it effect? Do they stand a chance or is there all too much going against them? To find out you need to grab yourself a copy as it was compulsive reading for me.  It is a very emotional story that will pull at your heart strings.  This is the first time that I’ve read anything by Serena but it will most certainly not be the last. This book is powerful and the author has such a fantastic command of the English language and has used it here  to create atmosphere and some exceptional characters in this dark romance.

His Promise by Eddie Cleveland

   A Fleeting Glimpse Of Love

Colt is a good guy. An ex Navy SEAL who has a very successful business and charity that he set up for Families of Fallen Heroes.  He meets Isabella at a charity function and the attraction between them was instant but so bad timing.  They don’t see each other next for two years at her best friend, Julia’s, wedding where her parents will also be attending. This is going to be difficult for Isabella as she no longer sees her parents.  Isabella is so sweet and finds it difficult to believe that Colt is really interested in her but their attraction is just taking off when he gets a call which leads to him having to go because of an emergence.  Poor Isabella thinks that that is that and she won’t see him again.  But she has underestimated Colt’s feelings for her.  No one, not even Madison with all her dirty tricks, is going to stop these two passionate people from discovering whether they belong together. Eddie Cleveland writes with passion and sensitivity.  The storyline is believable and so are the characters. I felt so sorry for Colt and Isabella when they first met but circumstances prevented them from going out together.  I laughed whilst reading this story and I needed a hankie at times. But it was all so beautifully woven together with two wonderful people who deserve each other.  Don’t forget, of course, that there was plenty of drama, family issues, passion, and twists that caught my imagination and so I ended up reading this all in one go – and it was well worth losing a few hours sleep into the wee small hours of the morning!  I have read this story before and loved it back then. This second reading was even better as I understood more about the ‘people’ whilst I read it over again.  A fabulous story by a terrific writer.  I look forward to reading many more stories by Eddie and encourage you to try this and his other stories too! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Taming Irish (Wild Irish #3) by C.M. Seabrook

   Falling Into His Lap

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.  I have a confession to make!  This is the very first book by C.M. Seabrook that I’ve ever read and I am totally blown away by it.  I love her style of writing; her descriptions and developments of characters, realistic scenarios and a growing passion between the two main protagonists that makes complete and utter sense but also stirs the imagination and the need for a fan on maximum cool! In Shane and Makena’s story, it is so wonderful to ‘see’ their attraction for each other growing into something so meaningful, deep, real and everlasting.  There is a heat between them that changes Shane’s whole outlook on life once he meets her. before that he had been very happy being part of a popular rock band and having all the women he liked without any cares or responsibility but once he meets Makena, he realises that whilst he thought he had been happy he had merely been going with the flow and only really felt ‘alive’ when she barged into his life.  She makes the world  a place full of wonder with life so exciting and he realises that he isn’t interested in other women any more.  He only wants her but he’s going to have to persuade her as she has trust issues with men because of her rat of an ex.  I did so enjoy this story and, whilst it is part 3 of the series, it can easily be read as a standalone. having said that I’m going to get the other two to read them as this book was so good.  A real page turn which caught my attention at page one and kept it right to the end.
