Blazing Hot (Californian Wildfire Fighters #2) by Leslie North

  A Great Read

Feeling HOT, HOT, HOT!!  Holy firefighters!  Landon and his fellow firefighters are definitely swoon worthy and they do all they can to save everyone and everything. Alexandra is a widow whose cop husband was caught in gun fire and died. She was heartbroken and couldn’t bear to go through that grief again for any man. But, that is, until she meets Landon.  He wasn’t expecting to feel the chemistry when he meets Alex who treats him when he is injured in the line of duty.  I’ve read and enjoyed many of Leslie North’s other stories and I intend to get myself a copy of book 1 of the Californian Wildfire Fighters and book 3 as I thought this one was so good. Well written, as always, plenty of action, great characters and red hot sizzling steam heat between Landon and Alex.  A real page turner that I encourage you to try too. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Lucas is a multi billionaire who is hiding out in the mountains as a lumberjack when he encounters Claire, a curvy and feisty younger woman, who has run away from an arranged marriage, her cabin burned down. She stumbles upon Lucas and he realises that he has found his mate in her.  But he has a secret from her- he is a wolf shifter.  Will this older man be prepared to take a chance on finding his mate, his wolf certainly wants to, but Lucas can be stubborn and will Claire want to give herself to this man??  This is a fast paced, easy to read paranormal story by Amber Ella Monroe.  I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

But who?  Why?  This story perfectly illustrates why Michelle Love is one of the USA’s top best selling authors. This is more than just a romance – it is suspenseful, a who done it, a second chance at love, and a vengeful person who is determined to hurt others.  So wonderfully written that I was virtually sitting on the edge of my seat “desperately” needing to know the who, what, why and did they survive? Light Up The Night: A Bad Boy Firefighter Novel by Weston Parker

   “Every Good Girl Deserves a Bad Boy” ~ Weston

Hayden and Mel were made for each other. He’s a firefighter and is lonely. She is a single mum with a daughter, Kaylee, and runs her restaurant where the firefighters love to eat. It is there that she meets Hayden.  They have both been hurt before and she just doesn’t want to get involved with a man in a dangerous occupation.  But can they deny the heat and passion between them?  Can they both grasp life and take a chance on finding happiness and love with one another?  I love the way that Weston Parker builds up his characters and storylines so that I feel as if I’m actually ‘seeing’ it unfold between the pages on my kindle. He creates these wonderful 3-dimensional people who are so realistic and so likeable. When things heat up between these two you’re going to need to switch on your fan/ac as there is STEAM HEAT! I received a reader’s copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here.

   She Needs Him!

Ashlee Price has delivered us another must have read when we meet Ava and Scott. They were the best of friends [he the only son of billionaires] and they both want to go into medicine. So she becomes a doctor and he a surgeon.  They spend one night together without revealing their true feelings for each other. But they get on with their lives and don’t see each other for 7 years – unless you count when she sees him being interviewed on tv.  But now he’s back and he knows that he needs her and wants to help her. She’s in an abusive relationship with a creep of a boyfriend that Scott wants to hurt badly and her mother tried to marry her off to pay off her own debts!!  But how does Ava feel for Scott now?Will she see him for the man that she loves who loves her so much and what about the secret?  Ashlee caught my attention at page one and kept it right to the very end.  I was so pleased that Scott was there for Ava – just wish he’d come back sooner. She didn’t deserve the awful situation that she was in and getting this from two people, one being her own mother,- she didn’t stand a chance.  A real page turner that you won’t want to put down and it was so good that I know that I will be re-reading this in the future.  I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Her Enchanted Alpha Match (Matchmaker Book 4) by Emilia Hartley

  Finding Her Own Fated Mate

Nessa is a terrific matchmaker for shifters.  But not so great for herself.  She is a cat shifter and is very content in many ways.  Caz is all alpha male and a bear shifter at that so he must be brutal – mustn’t he?  But when she has tyrouble with her car and goes to his garage for help she finds out that he isn’t at all like she thought. In fact, he is rather nice!  She’d like to go out with him. But there’s a problem in the form of a wicked witch who wants him for herself and she will be mad if Nessa doesn’t get him to go out with her instead!.  Beautifully written by Emilia Hartley who is a fabulous paranormal author whose books I ‘discovered’ a couple of years ago and I’ve been reading them ever since as they are just so well written with great storylines and fascinating characters.  I loved ‘meeting’ Nessa and Caz and they were just so good together. The air seemed to practically sizzle whenever they were together.  I love bear shifter stories, in particular, and I think this is the best one yet so I really do encourage you to read this for yourself.  I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.  SO good that I bought my own copy so that I could re-read it again and support the author

Most definitely recommended!  I’m now looking forward to Emilia’s next book.

Her Woodsmen: A Reverse Harem Romance by Victoria Belle

  New Author…

Lyra is struggling to cope with her parents divorce and she drops out of school.  She spends her time partying until her mum finds out. She then takes Lyra away to a secluded cabin in the woods.  It is there that whilst wandering in the forest that she meets Rain, Paul, and X  who live in a community away from society.  They were not what she expected at all.  They seemed rather interested in her too and she was certainly not going to discourage their interest as they are HOT!  This is a reverse harem story by Victoria Belle who is a new author to me.  This is an easy to read story that is fast paced.  A great beach read.  I did enjoy the story and will look for more of her books to enjoy.  I received a reader’s copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here.

Hating My New Boss by B. B. Hamel

  Will She Let Him Back In Her Heart?

Remi and Justin’s family were neighbours and they were best friends.  Until they weren’t. She didn’t know that his father had cheated her dad out of a deal worth millions of dollars or that he had blackmailed Justin into choosing either to stay friends with her or else.  He left and she doesn’t hear from him for ten years when her boss, Diane, gets fired and the promotion she was going for is given to Justin.  Now Justin didn’t realise how heartbroken Remi was when he dumped her but he can tell by her  attitude towards him that she hates him and he doesn’t want that at all!  He never forgot her and as he discovers she is even more gorgeous than she was before, he knows that he must get her to see him in another light – with him as the starring role hero for her.  B.B. Hamel is a fabulous author who creates fascinating storylines with characters that I’d love to know. With feisty heroines and gorgeous heroes that will do everything they can to make their soul mate happy.   With great attention to detail to make these people come ‘alive’.  I loved the twist and witty banter between the two of them and how they had to overcome the mistrust and hurt from the past.  Certainly the new client is interesting to say the very least!  As for Justin and Remi  – steam heat.  The chemistry between them is off the charts and cannot be ignored no matter how much Remi tries to at the beginning.  You will know if you’ve read anything by B.B. Hamel before that she writes with real passion and her love scenes get steamy so you may well need to turn on your fans /ac. This story was wonderful and I lost some sleep so that I could finish reading it. But it was well worth it. It was engaging, fast paced, with great banter and plenty of twists and love to keep the reader fully focussed  story and will be re-reading it in the future as it was so good.  I received a reader’s copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here.

Leo (Zodiac Killers #9) by W.L. Knightly

  Another Fabulous Page Turning Episode

This is the ninth book in the Zodiak Series killers by W.L. Knightly [aka Ali Parker and Lexy Timms] .  This series started off to a wonderful start and had me finding it difficult to put the book down.  I’m now at the stage that I’m sitting on the edge of my seat and wishing the months away to find out who the murder actually is and why they really started on this murder spree.  Derak is still on the hunt for our killer and is looking into the mega church and our Zodiak Leo, Carter Hamilton who is a major part of the mega church in San Diego.  He’s doing well but when it seems as if he may have to dig into his own pocket to keep afloat  he decides that an easier way is to blackmail Brandy instead.  Derak and Lizzie are now back together – thank goodness but things aren’t great with his partner, Max, after what happened between him and Lizzie.  This is so much more than one ‘mere’ serial killer.  The depth of layers to this very complex plot are fascinating and frustrating to me at the same time as I desperately want to know who it is but I don’t, in  a way, want the series to end as it is just so BRILLIANT.  W.L. Knightly  is a superb writing team and I can’t think of any that could surpass them  I wish that I was even half as eloquent as our authors so I could express how much I am enjoying and love their writing .  Fabulous characters that are developing and storylines that are simply mind boggling. This is a must have read and you need to get it NOW.  I received a reader’s copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here. MUST HAVE READ – Definitely Recommended

Steam Dragon Shifters: Shifter Romance Collection (Steam Dragon Shifters #1–4 omnibus) by Lisa Daniels

   A Wonderful Collection That You Won’t Want To Put Down

Lisa Daniels is a master of paranormal storytelling [my favourites being the bear shifters] and this collection of four dragon shifters and their mates is a fabulous example of her work. The books include :-

Ice Blood

Gorge Blood

Green Blood

Stone Blood

One of the many things that I love about Lisa’s writing is that she includes references or glimpses of characters from previous stories so we get to see how they are carrying on in their own HEAs.  I was slightly disappointed that the conclusion was rather a let down as there wasn’t really a defining ending – although all four dragons got their fated mates and their own HEAs.  Well written with amazing characters and interesting storylines that will keep you form wanting to put the book down.   All four are real page turners and leave me wanting her next story to be ready for me to read now [but I’m happy to wait as the result is always great]. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
