When Destiny Called At Susie’s Diner!
M.E. Parker is a new author to me, but she is now added to my top 20 list of favourite authors now! I LOVED ‘meeting’ Jack and Claire and it was destiny and fate all rolled into one on the day they met at Susie’s Diner! jack has had his heart broken in the past and Claire is basically running from having to marry a revolting man that is an utter snob. Jack’s manager, Ted, and his wife, Sarah, his cook are on holiday so he goes to Susie’s Diner for a good friend chicken meal. Whilst he is there the door opens and the most beautiful woman that he has ever seen walks in the door, obviously furious with the man that is following her. When he grabs hold of her arm and she tells him to let go and he won’t, Jack steps in to her defense and sends the creep on his way. This is where Destiny takes hold of hers and Jack’s universe. As she has no money [her dad has cancelled all her credit cards and there is no where else to go] and there is no hotel or motel nearby he lets her stay the night at his home. But Jack is guarded with his heart and whilst thinking that she is the most beautiful woman that he has ever seen, his past history makes him take her to his fishing , one bedroom cabin rather that his six bedroom mansion! As you may have gathered I simply loved this story. Jack and Claire could not have been any more perfect for each other. Every day she learned new things that she wanted to discover and experience but hadn’t had the chance before. As she does so her attraction for Jack and his for her overwhelms them both and they start a passionate affair that is beyond their dreams or imaginations. But can this last? She is a Bostonian city dweller whilst he is a Tennessee farmer? Can they maintain a long distance relationship? Will she lose her joy of the novelty of farm life? What happens when the dreadful Tiffany makes another play for Jack? I know but I can’t tell it anywhere near as well as M.E. parker so I strongly urge you to get your own copy and enjoy the experience of reading this love story for yourself. I must add that the epilogues were fantastic additions and really rounded the story off perfectly for me. I really do hope that we learn more of the people at Colton Farms as I think it’s going to be addictive for me to read. I also loved his nickname for her!
I received a reader’s copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion. So I’ve bought my own copy as this is one story that I will be re-reading many times in the future as it is so good.
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED – I’m looking forward to reading M.E. Parker’s other stories as I was so impressed with Colton Farms!
