Nightclub Surprise: A Bad Boy Billionaire Romance (Nightclub Sins Book 3) by Michelle Love

A Second Chance At Love For August & Tawny

Tawny and August, despite the four year age gap between them had played together as next door neighbours. On the night before he joins up to the Marines, he goes outside in his back garden where Tawny just happens to be moon watching in hers.  She’s now 18 years old to his 22 years. They kiss then passion overcomes them. The next time they see each other is years later in San Diego when he is with his nephew, Gino, and  a woman accidentally touches him when she walks past him that sends a tingling up his arm that reminds him of his reaction to Tawny! But it can’t be her, can it? The woman shouts a boy’s name and a little boy about 6 years old turns and runs to her shouting ‘Momma!’  He looks like a miniature August!  This second chance at romance story is exceptional and is, most definitely, my favourite story by Michelle Love. There are so many profound issues that effect the people in it. August is suffering from PTSD after a traumatic accident occurred in which his friend died.  August doesn’t think that Tawny could cope with his issues however much he wants to be with her and Callum.  Tawny does have a secret that she doesn’t know if she should confide in August and it is eating away at her conscience but when Callum’s life is put in jeopardy she has to make a decision.  Michelle has created such wonderful characters in August who is so troubled and wants to do whatever he can to help people and forgive himself. Tawny is wracked with guilt over a lie and her secret.  August’s sister is a fabulous character and she gives such great advice and support to August. I loved the way he went into automatic ‘hero’ take charge mode when Callum needed help.T he fact that we could ‘hear’ both their POV also made this so much more intimate and added greater depth as we got to understand why they reacted in certain ways.  The sensitive issues she covers in the story are pertinent, realistic and , sadly, effect way too many people in life.  They need to be addressed in such a way that they are addressed and not ‘brushed under the carpet’. I did receive an advanced copy of this story and leave my honest review for it here.

However, as I love all her stories I purchased my own copy so that I would have the extra bonus materials to read too and support a terrific author.

Auctioned to the Biker by Mia Ford

  Another Chance At Passion?

Jenny is a 22 year old virgin who compares all men to her departed Dad.  No man measure sup to him. She decides to auction off her virginity so she and her best friend, Stacy, can start their own online business.  She goes along and is ‘bought’ by 11 bikers – Brad being the MC leader. He is the one that actually claims her virginity and there is sex all night for her with those eleven men.  What surprised me was that she could walk the next day! She rather took a shine to Brad and he to her but he doesn’t let on to his friends. He can’t get her details and searches for her which shows a real emotion for her which is more than I expected.  Eventually Brad does find her and the rest you’re going to have to read for yourselves.  This is a different storyline for Mia but the great writing and passion are all there in full force as you’d expect from any book by her. I admit that the auction part didn’t  particularly appeal to me but the romance with Brad was Mia at her best and I loved that.  The suspense was good and I loved how the attack all played out.  I was surprised at the ultimate ending as it was if we’d been given ‘false’ information but it did gel with the rest of the book.  I loved Brad’s commitment to find Jenny and they were so good together and I think she did need an equally strong minded partner that she found in Brad. I do wonder if, in some ways, they regretted meeting the way they had bearing in mind what happened to her later on.  It was well written, as all of Mia’s stories are, the passion and it turning to love between Jenny and Brad was very moving.  I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. I’m looking forward to reading her next romantic adventure!

Interview with the Rock Star by Rylee Swann

   Torn Apart

Presley Elizabeth is a young woman who is struggling the best she can in life.  Her past Love, Kace Rymer, is a one hit wonder of a rock star. They met ten years ago and we’re besotted with each other. His Hit song he wrote for her and whenever she hears it on the radio it brings back so many wonderful and a few heart breaking reminders of Kace.  They were engaged but Kace was struggling with the life style of being a rock star. Drugs and drink were his enemy and he couldn’t seem to help himself out of this spiral of despair. Presley was so worried by his body wasting away to the abuse but there was nothing she could do. Then something happened and she broke off the engagement and hasn’t seen him since even though she loves him so very much and he has tried umpteen times to even get her to speak to him. Four years ago he got rid of all his management team, including his cousin, got into rehab and got himself a new manager, Steven. When he is asked to sing the national anthem before a football game at home he returns to where they fell in love back to her. They meet and what happens after that could very well make you cry, sigh and laugh. But oh how beautiful Rylee Swann delivers this touching story to us, the readers.  She is a fabulous author the way she draws you into the pain that both Kace and Presley are going through and she lets us ‘hear’ what they are thinking. This is a heart wrenching story that takes you through all the emotions of finding love, having it torn away from you, dragging oneself through rehab and trying to get to be the person you want to be and then declaring your love to all the world to even have the slimmest of chances that you just might win the love of the most important person in the world to you.  Rylee has excelled in this book to make us root for Kace and Presley despite what we thought was the ‘truth’. She really got into their heads and I just couldn’t put this book down as I was too ‘invested’ in their characters. yes, Kace was flawed but he was not totally as he had been portrayed and he did deserve a chance which Presley was brave enough to give him. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

However, as I loved this story so very much and will be re-reading it again, I have bought my own copy.

Snow Angel: A Macconwood Pack Novella by C.D. Gorri

   All For Love!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.  Cael who is a dedicated physician and secret wolf shifter has met his fated mate in the guise of Dr. Rayne Davis.  But he has to be put in seclusion as he believes that is the only thing that he can do to save his older brother and Rachel.  Rachel is distraught as she knew he was her mate and she is bereft without him without saying a word. She works at the same hospital and puts all her energies into her work as she feels that she has nothing left to do without him.  His brother, David, wants Cael back and he decides to do a little matchmaking and with some help he gets Cael back at home and in the hospital and with Rachel!   Rachel is ecstatic that Cael is back but her wolf needs to heal as it has been lost with his disappearance.  There is a mystery to be solved and bring healing to both of them and their wolves.  Such a great storyline with characters that I truly liked and the way they developed throughout the story made it so very special.  I only ‘discovered, C.D. Gorri this year and I like each subsequent book even more than the last and I’m now looking forward to her next romantic adventure. This is a fast paced story that I don’t think that you will want to put down till you reach the satisfying conclusion.  A great love story.

Don’t Come Around Here: A Bad Boy Next Door Romance by Eva Luxe, Juliana Conners

  A Second Chance At Love?

This is the newest in the “Don’t” series by Eva Luxe and Juliana Conners.  I have enjoyed reading books written by this pairing of terrific authors before and I enjoy their writing styles that complement one another and make for flowing stories that transport you to the worlds of the characters in the book and their descriptions are so well defined that I can almost ‘picture’ what they look like and their personalities within the books.  In this one, we meet Brad and Carly. who were high school sweethearts and very much in love until her father went ballistic and dragged Carly form Brad and his mum’s home. I’m just surprised that they didn’t call the police on the man as he wasn’t behaving rationally. Anyway, because of her father’s threats they have to keep away from each other.  he goes off and becomes has a very successful sporting career which is what he wanted and Carly goes to college.  Six years go by and they both happen to be in town at the same time. As soon as they see each other, they realise that their feelings haven’t changed and they are now mature enough to ‘fight’ for their love. But to make their romance easier they keep it low key. However, the press find out that Brad is home and they camp outside his home.  What’s now going to happen to their possible HEA?  I did like how Brad wasn’t just a womanising jock and he took responsibility for himself and his actions and was ready to prove to Carly how deep his love for her is and how he will do anything to give them a chance at happiness. There is plenty of hot sizzling intimate scenes that you will need to have your fans at the ready to switch to maximum force as they are STEAMING!  I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.  However, as I loved the story so much, I bought my own copy and am now enjoying the bonus material included!  So get yourself a copy of this and enjoy reading their journey to a possible HEA!

His Promise by Eddie Cleveland

   A Fleeting Glimpse Of Love

Colt is a good guy. An ex Navy SEAL who has a very successful business and charity that he set up for Families of Fallen Heroes.  He meets Isabella at a charity function and the attraction between them was instant but so bad timing.  They don’t see each other next for two years at her best friend, Julia’s, wedding where her parents will also be attending. This is going to be difficult for Isabella as she no longer sees her parents.  Isabella is so sweet and finds it difficult to believe that Colt is really interested in her but their attraction is just taking off when he gets a call which leads to him having to go because of an emergence.  Poor Isabella thinks that that is that and she won’t see him again.  But she has underestimated Colt’s feelings for her.  No one, not even Madison with all her dirty tricks, is going to stop these two passionate people from discovering whether they belong together. Eddie Cleveland writes with passion and sensitivity.  The storyline is believable and so are the characters. I felt so sorry for Colt and Isabella when they first met but circumstances prevented them from going out together.  I laughed whilst reading this story and I needed a hankie at times. But it was all so beautifully woven together with two wonderful people who deserve each other.  Don’t forget, of course, that there was plenty of drama, family issues, passion, and twists that caught my imagination and so I ended up reading this all in one go – and it was well worth losing a few hours sleep into the wee small hours of the morning!  I have read this story before and loved it back then. This second reading was even better as I understood more about the ‘people’ whilst I read it over again.  A fabulous story by a terrific writer.  I look forward to reading many more stories by Eddie and encourage you to try this and his other stories too! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Keeping it All: A Single Dad Second Chance Romance by J.J. Bella

    Second Chances

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is one terrific story by JJ Bella and you are in for a treat when you read this. Mary was a good girl and way above anything that Sam could ever hope to have as he was a bad boy. Mary has to choose between a future with career or possibly love with Sam – but would she be enough for him?? She wasn’t sure so she chose her career. Now she’s back in London and Sam has had a major turn around. When she left he decided to straighten his act out and he is now a very successful businessman and a single dad. After there history how are they going to react when Mary is about to become an employee of Sam’s?? With the passion between them and how they have both grown, do they have a second chance of a HEA together? JJ Bella is a terrific author and creates such wonderful characters as I so wanted Sam and Mary to get together and with this second chance, whilst there were many steamy and sizzling chemistry scenes between them, I also loved how they behaved towards each other. Their love for each other had never gone away and they both needed to have the opportunity for love. A wonderful read that is fast paced and so emotional that you will probably end up like me hoping against hope that their HEA was on the cards. To find out, grab yourself a copy!

Desire : A Contemporary Romance Box Set by R.R. Banks

A Hot, Steamy Bundle Of Romances!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. We have a real treat here of five books by R.R. Banks.

Major ‘O’ – First of all, I need to confess that R.R.Banks is one of my favourite authors. Her stories are always just that little bit “different” but with always gorgeous heroes and heroines that positively human “combust” with the chemistry when they meet. her characters in this story, Abby and Caleb, are very likeable and are given their second chance at their own HEA. The dialogue is fast paced and witty and you can see why they are so attracted to one another.

Saving Her – This is a fantastic read that deals with some very sensitive issues but it is beautifully written by RR as anyone who has read his books before will appreciate. What is so special about this book? The way the basic outline of the story unfolds the reader might think it’s going to be relatively straight forward, but, oh no, RR has delighted us with some twists and turns that certainly surprised me and made the tension in the story buzzing. It surrounds a young woman called Calee who has had a simply dreadful life and wants to break free from the cult that her junkie parents sold her to. She does have some help and her hopes rise then she seems to be even worse off than she was before. She is given unexpected help from one of the last persons she would expect but she accepts gratefully and this leads to her meeting Eric. He is an ex-military surgeon who is now in private practice but with his own demons. beneath his hard shell there is a kind and caring man and when he sees Calee, obviously in difficulties, he knows that he must help her in any way he can. This, is where the real excitement begins. I was completely caught up in the story and whilst it did seem as if they had got away form the cult leader’s henchmen, there is worse to come and it is only with the feelings between the two of them that have developed over the weeks together that Eric displays his determination to do everything to save Calee and all the other women from inhumane abuse. The last few chapters were so gripping and descriptive that I could almost see it playing out in my mind as I absorbed every word.

Snow and the 7 Hunks – Switch on the fans. Lock the doors and turn off your phones! This re-telling of a fairy tale is going to heat you up. R.R. Banks always delivers a great book but he has surpassed himself with this re-telling of Snow White. Oodles of steamy, hot scenes with a damsel in distress and hunky heros to save the day. I was absorbed from the first to the last page and then wanting the next book.undoubtedly the best re-telling of a fairy tale this year. Definitely recommended!! I was fortunate to receive an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.

Her Hunk – Eleanor has not had the easiest nor the life that she anticipated. Her vile ex, Victor, deserves everything that happens to him but you have to wait a while for it to happen, but it is so well worth the wait. R.R.Banks has outdone himself in Boy Toy. In penning this story about a beautiful strong minded woman who will fight, now, for what she wants and the absolutely delicious, Hunter, that will make your heart palpitate. He slowly seduces her so that she completely forgets that she is so much older in years on Earth than him and instead she concentrate on how he makes her feel. Oh boy, that feeling makes her melt. he is so sweet and slightly nerdy with his black glasses on and slight awkwardness at times. But when he takes off his shirt Eleanor forgets everything but him and what they can do for each other. He seems the perfect man to be stranded on a deserted island to me. Those are the things that I loved about this book and there is absolutely nothing that I didn’t like. This is the first book thast I’ve read where the hero was significantly younger than the heroine, but love makes nothing else matter and R.R. Banks wove this throughout the story and love conquered all. I received an arc of this book and voluntarily leave my honest review of it here.
P.S. I also liked the way Gavin made a surprise sighting at the end.

Her Tycoon – This is an entirely new book and it is another fast paced, page turner of a story that you will be hooked on it and won’t want to put it down! In this one we meet Mason, who is really not what I would classify as hero material at all;. In fact, he drives me nuts. However, when he meets Ella and her adorable little boy you can just tell that he is redeemable. Ella is one feisty heroine who won’t put up with Mason and he wants her badly. It’s time that he man ups if he wants the woman that he needs just like he needs his next breath! A great novella that I read in one go and will be reading again as it’s so good!!!

This is an excellent selection of really good stories with hot and steamy romance by R.R. Banks and I encourage you to get a copy for yourself as it is so good.

Kissing Booth by River Laurent

Brock & Dani sitting in a tree. K.I.S.S.I.N.G!!!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is a great fun read by River Laurent that will keep you glued to the book from page 1 to the very end. Brock discovers his childhood crush asleep on his bed but, unlike when they were little, he isn’t going to let her get away this time. He’s now a man who gets what he wants and he wants Dani! To persuade her to stick with him he asks if she will agree to play the part of his fiancée when he attends his ex’s wedding. How can Dani refuse?? With attraction between them in bucket fulls and the searing glances between them plus the electricity that sparks every time they touch, we just know that they are going to get a HEA together. Both really fun characters that deserve a chance at everlasting love. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and think that you will too!
