Unprepared Daddy: A Second Chance Romance by Bella Winters

Does he Deserve A Second Chance?

Serena is a new girl to the city and she really doesn’t like her job behind a bar serving shots wearing a skimpy outfit and being touched up by lewd old men. One night she meets Ben who is a self made billionaire who doesn’t do relationships but is bewitched by Serena and when he finds out that she’s about to be made homeless he offers to let her live with him. The chemistry between them is explosive and they enjoy being with each other very much. But business is not going well for Ben and he comes home really fraught with worry. Serena has news for him too – they are going to be parents! Ben was in a bad enough state before hearing that and he doesn’t take the news well as he is already worried and he stupidly behaves like a real creep and kicks her out of his life and home!! pregnant, penniless and homeless she has no where else to go but her parents who have strict morals and will not associate themselves with her unwed pregnant state and pay her to go away and leave them alone. It is absolutely disgusting the way that poor Serena has been treated by the three people who should love and want to protect her. But she is a strong young women and knows that she and the babies will be okay. Meanwhile, Ben has come out of a shock and feels terrible for what he did to Serena especially as he does love her and is missing her so much as she is a part of him. But whilst trying to get her back she rejects him and he knows that he’s going to really show her how much he does love and need her and the babies. He’s got his work cut out for him. Bella Winters has written a brilliant story here and I got so involved in the story that if I’d met Ben just after he kicked Serena out I would have smacked him!Q Oh boy was I furious on her behalf as I’m sure everyone who read the book was. I didn’t like him then even though I knew that he did love her and was just scared and selfishly just thinking of himself. But to find out how he makes amends and got back into mine and Serena’s good books you’re going to need to need to get a copy of this page turner for yourself and immerse yourself in the story as I did. I truly enjoyed this story and the twists that Bella included to make this storyline so compelling. Ben and Serena are so magical together and we all do really stupid things in our lives that we regret immediately. That was Ben’s! if there was an epilogue of them in 5, 10, 20 years etc in the future I bet he never did anything like that or anything near it again. I loved this story and thoroughly recommend it to anyone. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Hot As Hell: A Second Chance Romance by Vivian Wood

    Like Tow Magnets Drawn Together

Well Vivian Wood has given us, yet another, wonderful treat with Cade, a gorgeous firefighter who is suffering PTSd bouts after a tragedy at a fire and his love and lust for his best friend’s little sister, Lily. Now Lily, a pastry chef at the local bakery beside the fire station where her two brothers work is learning to be even better with Jean Michael the owner of the bakery. It would be useful if you read Smoulder as it is the prequel to this story but don’t worry if you haven’t. Lily’s Dad was the fire chief many years ago and he helped Cade who was in the foster system and that’s how he met Ej , her brother, and became best friends with him and how he inspired Cade, Ej and his other son to follow him into the fire service too. Unfortunately their Dad died in a fire but the ‘boys’ still stayed in the service. Cade left 5 years ago and he still feels wrong for having left without saying a word to Lily as he loved her then but knew he couldn’t do anything to hurt his relationship with EJ by going out with his sister. Lily has never loved any man other than Cade and is still a virgin. When he walks into the bakery one day unexpectedly she is delighted and you can practically feel the smoldering desire between the two of them as it was so palpable. As they meet more often with him venturing into the bakery often and seeing each other at her brothers flat, Cade realises that his feelings for Lily have developed into so much more and eventually they’give in’ to their feelings and the love scene is so sensuous, passionate and , yet, so loving. Simply beautifully composed by Vivian as she can do so well. But once is never enough and the passion continues to build until they cannot deny their feelings for one another but they still haven’t told EJ. When things go awry and Lily ends up on the mountain where there is a forest fire, Cade knows that he will do anything to save Lily even to risking his ow life. But will Cade get the chance to save her? Will they both survive and will her brother forgive Cade? I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. I think this is my favourite of Vivian’s books and I love the other ones but the relationship between Cade and Lily is so sweet and , yet, steam heat that I can’t help but love it. This is one book that I will be re-reading and will be getting a copy for myself to re-read in the future.

Bodyguard’s Secret Baby (A Secret Baby Romance) by Vivian Ward

  Not For Me

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I gave this 3 stars because of the quality of the writing. I have loved every other book that I’ve read by Vivian Ward, but this one is just not for me. I could not like Damon no matter how hard I tried. I thought he was an immature, thoughtless individual who was very promiscuous and didn’t take precautions to stop transmitting sexual diseases or causing unwanted pregnancies. When things didn’t go his way he just left not caring about those who cared for him. When Julie didn’t fall at his feet because he had returned he immediately sought out a ‘skank’ and that is just not the reaction of a stable and well adjusted human. His behaviour when he found out that she had had his child all alone since he had absconded was deplorable. There were wrongs with Julie too but I just could not find one thing to say about him.

The Surprise Wedding (Veils and Vows #1) by Jean Oram

  Second Chance With her Ex…

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Devon and Olivia were from different sides of the tracks – she was filthy rich and he wasn’t. But that had no impact on their love for one another and from young sweethearts they stayed together even when they went to college. But things happen and life intrudes and Olivia broke up with Devon. Devon is a character that was so easy to like and love. he cares passionately about their small town and all the people that he loves. Olivia has left their hometown and bitterly regrets the way that she broke up with Devon. Now, ten years later, she has to go back as her family business is in trouble. Devon offers her a lifeline and before they even realise what is happening, they are engaged to each other. Furthermore, Devon is still the wonderful fun-loving, caring and sexy male that she loved all those years ago. Is this fake engagement going to become real? Will they realise the mistakes they made were just that, mistakes, and grasp this second chance of being together? Remember Devon’s heart was crushed by her leaving him and he’s been guarding it ever since. I loved the way Jean Oram described the characters so well that they seemed like the type of people I would like to know in my friendship group. The storyline was good and very realistic. I realise that this is part of a series and I confess that I haven’t read the book before but this was still easy to understand as a standalone. having said that I did enjoy this story very much and want to know more about the people and their town so I will be starting to look for more of the series to enjoy.
